Installing a TKO Transmission into a 1973 Charger

To access our complete catalog of transmissions and transmission parts.

The TKO will not mount directly to your bellhousing.  It'll have to be modified to accept the bearing retainer, and 1 or 2 mounting holes will have to be drilled.

Your flywheel and pressure plate will work, but you'll need a GM 26 spline disk, and a custom pilot bearing.  The input shaft is the GM 26 spline input shaft.  This conversion for you will be similar to bolting in a GM Muncie trans, except of course for the shifter.  I’d have to verify, but I think your fork and the throwout bearing  will work.

The output shaft is a C6 small seal 31 spline output.  You’ll need a TKO slip  yoke, and to shorten your driveshaft

For the speedometer, you'll need a $60.00 cable to make it work with your stock speedometer.

You will most likely need modify the tunnel to get the trans to fit.

Forte's is working on making the Mopar conversion as easy as the GM conversion, it's just not there yet.  The project is do-able, and has been done before, it'll just take a little more planning, and some custom work.
